Eid Evenings & Lucknowi Reveries

At long last, I have arrived in the resplendent city of Lucknow , a city that does not merely exist upon maps, but rather lingers like an exquisite tehzeeb upon the soul. And perhaps the most enthralling realization of all is that the forthcoming days of my life shall now unfold amidst these charming lanes, luminous evenings, fragrant kebab stalls, and the mellifluous cadence.

My heart feels extraordinarily dilshād knowing that these precious days shall be spent beside my beloved cousins, cherished relatives, and the people whose presence alone transforms ordinary moments into everlasting reminiscences. There is something profoundly beautiful about gathering under one roof after so long ,  the unrestrained laughter echoing through hallways, the affectionate teasing during chai conversations, the midnight storytelling sessions, and the comforting familiarity of family.

And yesterday, I wandered through the luminous charm of Hazratganj,  and truly, what an enchanting spectacle it was. The elegance of its bustling streets, the radiant lights, and the timeless Lucknowi aura left my heart utterly captivated. If this is merely the beginning, then the forthcoming twenty days in Lucknow are destined to be absolutely unforgettable, Inshā’Allāh.

And above all, this shall be my very first Eid in Lucknow — a thought so exhilarating that words scarcely suffice to encapsulate its grandeur. The city already appears adorned in festive anticipation, as though every street is quietly preparing to welcome joy itself. In merely a few days, the atmosphere shall blossom into a magnificent celebration , me and my BELOVED cousins bustling together for shopping escapades, spirited drives through illuminated roads, delightful picnics beneath golden sunsets, endless games, heartfelt dawats, and those irreplaceable family gatherings where happiness feels almost tangible.

I can already envision the dazzling Eid mornings, the fragrance of attar suspended in the air, the rustling of elegant outfits, the exchange of warm embraces, and tables embellished with delectable delicacies crafted lovingly by affectionate hands. The beauty of Eid has never solely resided within festivities; rather, it resides within togetherness,  within the comfort of loved ones gathered in gratitude and joy. And this year, amidst the enchanting aura of Lucknow, Eid feels destined to become something extraordinarily memorable.

There is an indescribable serenity in realizing that life’s truest luxuries are not extravagances, but moments such as these, shared laughter in crowded rooms, cousins waiting impatiently for plans to unfold, relatives exchanging prayers with glistening eyes, and the heart resting peacefully amidst its own people.

Lucknow, in all its elegance, already feels less like a destination and more like a warm embrace.

A Gentle Reminder to the Heart

And amidst all this happiness, perhaps life quietly teaches us something profoundly simple: remain joyous within your own little world. People shall forever possess opinions, assumptions, judgments, and endless things to utter. Yet none of that should ever diminish your inner tranquility.

Pray sincerely to your Creator. Carry noble intentions within your heart. Be kind without calculation and genuine without performance. You are not obligated to endlessly prove your worth to the world, nor should you burden yourself by scrutinizing the journeys of others.

There is immense grace in simply existing peacefully,  surrounded by your loved ones, sheltered by heartfelt prayers, and fulfilled by the affection of those who genuinely cherish you. If your soul feels content, if your heart remains compassionate, and if your loved ones smile because of your presence, then believe me, you are already successful in the ways that truly matter.

So dwell happily within your own universe, your people, your prayers, your laughter, your dreams. For sometimes, that quiet contentment itself becomes life’s greatest blessing.
